Rachel Gottlieb and her husband Jason were two of the guests staying at the Brass Buckle hotel in Postville, during the convention celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Toulon murders. They had taken with them a Kaiser puppet from the 1920's so that they could sell it at the auction. They are shown to be a proud Jewish couple that collect Nazi memorabilia as a way to feel empowered by surviving Adolf Hitler's plan.

When they arrived back in their hotel room they noticed that their puppet was missing and saw something run under the bed. After this Jason searched under it and found the puppet and he then gave a speech about how Jewish people have survived and the Nazi's plan had failed. After this their puppet's hand fell off which revealed a flamethrower underneath and it came to life and proceeded to set them both on fire. After they had fell to the ground and been seriously injured the puppet then burnt their corpses.

Theirs along with Hezekiah Buckland and Anne's bodies were discovered by Edgar Easton and Detective Brown and they had came to the conclusion that these four were singled out and murdered for hate crime reasons as one was a gypsy, one was a lesbian and two were Jewish.
