Gameplay[]
The game has a large roster of puppet and human characters from the franchise, with plans of adding more in the future. Each character has their own strength and weakness stats which make them stand out in different situations.
Singleplayer Mode - Toulon's Journals[]
The game will come with two modes, the first mode is called Toulon's Journals and it is a single player sandbox mode where the player is in the role of one of the selected puppets and must complete various challenges to gain experience points, fight villains and find lost pages of Andre Toulon's diary. Each diary page was written by Nat Brehmer, the author of the complete history book.
Multiplayer Modes[]
Thief[]
The second and main mode is a multiplayer mode where a player takes the role of a single human character that must steal various items such as the Scroll of Osiris, Toulon's diary and the elixir that are randomly scattered across the selected map and three other players take on the role of selected puppets, that must prevent this from happening by using their skills and weapons. This mode can be played with both bots or actual other human players. Once the human has found all three items, they will then need to get to an elevator to press a button to call the elevator to arrive on the platform. After this, the player has 30 seconds until the elevator arrives and must fight off the puppets so that they have the ability to win the round by escaping into it.
Each human player starts with a different weapon and can also pick up various randomized weapons that are in the map, such as vases and crowbars. Once a puppet has been successfully killed, it will cause that player to be sent to a menu to wait for a cool down counter for them to play as their selected puppet again, or choose a different one. The human also has an ability to 'ragdoll' a puppet, by kicking them and knocking them out for a few seconds.
The human has two health bars which are colored white and red. The red bar is only activated when the puppets have attacked the human enough to cause him to fall to the floor. Once the red bar has gotten low, the puppets will have a chance to perform an execution finishing move that will win the round by killing the human in a dramatic fashion.
The puppets will spawn into the map inside of a secret tunnel system in the vents of the wall and can break their way out of it by attacking vent hatch. The puppets can also return to this system as a safe zone and elixir health refill and ambush the human by following the tunnels that connect to another part of the map. The puppets are a lot smaller than the human and must use their stealth to hide in the shadows to be able to get the best attack on the human and work as a team to weaken the human as much as possible.
Puppet Master Game Mode[]
In this game mode, one person plays a puppet, three people player puppets which protect the human and four people play Totems which are trying to stop them.
The objective is for the human to find the Sutekh idol and be in proximity of it long enough for it to be destroyed. The human needs to do this three times, then they can activate the elevator and leave. The puppets are on the human side and must protect them from the players playing the Totems.
Manhunt[]
This mode is essentially the same as the one above, though it is two humans against four puppets or Totems.
Puppet Wars[]
In this Puppet-Only Game mode, two factions wage war to see which is the deadliest of the tiny terrors. The team that reaches 500 XP first wins! The winner will receive 300 additional XP and the losing Faction will receive addition 150 XP

The player from each faction who achieves the most XP will be crowned MVP. Players who kill the MVP will be rewarded three times as much XP.
- Kill Player = 5 XP
- Kill Dominator = 10 XP
- Kill MVP =15 XP

Old Demos[]
The first demo was a single player demo released in 2014, in this demo you play as Blade and need to locate the other puppets (Pinhead, Torch, Tunneler and Jester) who are hiding around the Bodega Bay Inn
In the second demo released in 2015, there was multiplayer support where one human has to fight three other players who are playing as the puppets with a pistol and a shotgun. Charles Band had showed his interest in the project and had even given the developers music and resources to use and their plan was to make a deal with Charles to make the game official. The game became official in October of 2019 when Full Moon officially endorsed it.
The game is still not complete and the team have announced that they are focused on bug fixes and adding new content in the future.
